The Similarites and Differenties Spiderwick Chronicles and Thriller

The similarites for the spiderwick chronicles and the thriller is they hide the charecters and gradually starts to show them this allows the audience want to watch more because they would want to know who the main charecter is and they would want to know the type of main charecter they are and what they are doing this keeps the audience active and makes them feel thy are part of the film. they both use fast pace editing to create effect for the audience and make them want to watch on. to create atmosphere they use low key lighting to help to build mood aswell as atmopshere.

the differents between the action adventure and the thriller is there are more close ups used to allow the identity of the main charecter to be hidden and to allow the audience to be given clues about the main charecter and who they are. the Title in the action adventre is a representation of a spider to create the effect of the title spiderwick chronicles more. the colour of the title stand out more against the dark background.

Bridget Jones Diary Opening Sequence

The opening sequence starts with a mid shot showing her after christmas eating food and the shot shows a happy high key lighting setting, this is different from a thriller because a thriller starts with low key lighting and gives clues about the identity of the main charecter, with a rom-com they show the identity of the main charecter straight away. after the mid the camrea tracks the main charecters movement as she walks towards the camrea, as she walks there is a voice over of the main charecter talking to the audience her thoughts. this is different to a thriller because they don't use a voice over and they create a different audience effect and they make the audience show different emotions towards the main charecter and ask many questions.

The similarites between a thriller and rom-com is that they both introduce the main charecter either straight away or straight as the openign sequence starts, when the music starts playing it creates atmospher and creates the mood of the film for the audience. the setting is shown in the first shot and this allows the audience to start to get clues about what has happend and about the genre of film it is and allows the audience to understand it more.

wallander opening sequence

There is a slight drumming sound along with the sound of the wind and sea beacuse the camrea is placed in an helicopter and flown over the sea towards the nexted shot of the main land. The camrea moves closely towards the main land which is empty this shows that is must be the country side the camrea shot that is used is an exstreme long shot. The camrea still starts tracking towards a car which two people are shown to be walking away from the car. There is a cut between the shot of the car door open to the shot of the back of the two people walking off the people walking off makes the audience think about why are they running? where have they came from and have they come from the car. They keep their identity hidden in a mid shot, both people walking away are young female teenagers and they both look dangerous, the camrea follows them. the shot cuts to a shot of the person in the car, there is blood on the screen which shows that there might have been a car crash this makes the audeince think about what has happened and what has happened, the car is parked in the middle of no where. there is a close up of the head on the steering wheel. the shot cuts to another shot where the camrea is placed at the side of the two girls which have emotionless faces, there is blood on there faces this links them to the car this makes the audience think what have they done? did they cause the accident to the man in the car. one of the girls looks cold and the other looks anxious, the girl that looks cold is shown to be the more important one than the other girl. there is another cut of the mans face this shows that he has alot of cuts on his face this is shown in a exstreme close up, his eyes flicker open to show that he is not dead but might be soon to show this he is breathing heavily. to show that the girl is cold she has an old fashioned razor around his neck. big close up of the girls, the man is shown as a family man not an evil person. to show that the girls cause the injuries to the man they use a close up of one of the girls dropping a knife, as they drop the knife this gets the audience asking questions about why have they done what they have done? and did they know the man they have tried to kill in the car.
